The Selection Process The admission process at Shivalik Institute Of Management Education ensures that only intellectually capable and deserving candidates are selected for the two years rigorous program. For the batch of 2008, 60 students were selected from a total of 400 plus students applying for the program. After short listing on the basis of CAT/MAT/XAT scores, the students are given admission on the basis of their performance in the entrance process, viz GD & PI. There is no provision for management quota seat. The ratio of final selection from the total number of applicants is 1:7
Industry Exposure SIMER believes in the importance of giving its students extensive corporate exposure alongside invaluable academic inputs to ensure their holistic development. The extensive corporate interface ensures this perfect mix of business acumen and academic intellect.Summer Internships provide an opportunity for students to apply academic knowledge to real time business problems. Guest lectures and seminars give students a chance to interact with representatives of the corporate world and learn about latest management practices. The students are also encouraged to take up live projects round the year with corporates.
All Round Development Other than the academic rigour unique to SIMER, as far as other management institutes in the region are concerned, a strong focus is given on the all round development of students. Outbound trips are organized for imparting hands on learning on leadership and team spirit. Extra curricular activities form an integral part of the weekly schedule at SIMER.
