B.E. Admission

SRG Engineering College offers four-year undergraduate degree (B.E.) courses in five engineering disciplines at the undergraduate level. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the B.E. program is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as the core subjects. A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying exam is further required of all candidates as an eligibility criterion set by Anna University. Selection of candidates is done based on 10+2 marks merit through TNEA counseling.

Candidates seeking admission must visit Anna University's official website or log on to the dedicated TNEA website and fill out the online registration form. For admission to Management Quota seats, candidates are required to apply at the institute level.

Key Points:

Candidates with any other qualification with relevant subjects approved by the Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu can also apply.

Candidates appearing in the final year exam of the qualifying program are also eligible to apply. Such candidates will be given provisional admission until all relevant documents are furnished.

B.E. Lateral Entry Admission

SRG Engineering College offers three-year B.E. Lateral Entry courses in various disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria for Lateral Entry admission to B.E. programs is a Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline or a B.Sc. in Mathematics from a recognized institute or university. A minimum aggregate of 50% marks is additionally required of all candidates as an eligibility criterion set by Anna University. The selection of candidates is done based on their qualifying exam scores through TNEA counseling.

Prospective candidates may fill out the online application form for TNEA by visiting the Anna University website. Appearing in TNEA counseling is mandatory for B.E. (L.E.) as no management quota seats are available for the program.

M.E. Admission

SRG Engineering College offers a two-year M.E. program in six disciplines of engineering. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the M.E. program is a B.E. / B.Tech degree in the relevant or allied engineering discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Candidates are selected based on GATE or TANCET scores through TANCA counseling.

Aspiring candidates may seek admission to the M.E. program by filling out the online application form for Anna University’s TANCET and subsequently registering for TANCA.

Key Points:

Only regular B.E. / B.Tech degree holders are eligible for TANCA counseling.

Candidates with equivalent degrees obtained through Distance Mode/ Weekend courses are not eligible.

Candidates (reserved category) from states other than Tamil Nadu are admitted under the Open category.

TANCET (M.E.) applicants who qualify for the entrance test do not need to separately pay the registration fee for TANCA.

GATE candidates are exempted from taking TANCET and may register directly for TANCA counseling.

Application Process

SRG Engineering College fills its government quota seats through Anna University’s state-level counseling process for engineering admission. Candidates applying for the B.E. and B.E. (Lateral) courses offered by the institute are admitted through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) counseling based on qualifying exam marks. For M.E. admission, candidates are required to appear for either GATE or TANCET before registering for TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admission) counseling, which is the sole admission process in Tamil Nadu for PG engineering admissions under government quota. Management quota candidates can directly apply through the institute-level application process.

How to Apply

Candidates may visit the Anna University official website or the dedicated admission portals of TNEA and fill out the application form online.
Candidates are advised to read the information booklet carefully before filling out the application form.
The applicant is also required to upload a scanned copy of the passport-size photograph and signature while filling out the online application form.
After submission of the application form, the candidate is required to take a printout of the same and retain the copy for future correspondence.
The applicant is required to send a copy of the application form printout along with attested photocopies of all relevant documents in an enclosure addressed to: The Director of Admissions, Anna University, or to the Principal of the College.
The application fee can be paid online using a credit/ debit card or net banking at the time of filling out the online application form.
Those who have opted to pay the application fee via DD must furnish details of the DD while filling out the online application form.
The physical copy of the DD must accompany a hard copy of the complete application form along with all other requisite documents.
The DD must be drawn in favor of ‘Anna University’ payable at Chennai.
