Admission 2023-24 - Thiagarajar College Of Engineering

B.E / B.Tech Degree Admission

Admission to all undergraduate courses ie. Bachelor in Engineering (B.E)/  Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) is carried out through the single window system of Anna University. Students can choose the courses based on the state-wise rank calculated by their marks in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Reservations are provided for BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST etc as per the rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Reservations are also provided for Physically handicapped / Ex-Service men / Sports persons / Other state candidates.

B.Arch Degree Admission

Candidates having Passed  10+ 2 Higher Secondary Examination with 50 % marks as aggregate, having Mathematics as a subject of Study and obtained 70 marks out of 200 in NATA( National Aptitude Test for Architecture) test in any one of the attempts.

5 Year Integrated M.Sc (Data Science)

Eligibility and Admission Procedure:

Candidates with subjects of study such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in HSC (Plus Two) are eligible to apply. Admission will be based on the performance of the candidate in the Higher Secondary Examination (Aggregate Score in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry). The candidates shall also be required to satisfy all other conditions of admission prescribed by the College, University, and Government to Tamil Nadu from time to time.

Post Graduate Program

Admission to all postgraduate courses ie. Masters in Engineering (M.E.) are carried out through the Single Window System of Anna University. Candidates who have written the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) for M.E. degree programs with/a valid GATE Score are eligible. Students can choose the courses based on the rank calculated by their marks in the TANCET.

Reservations are provided for BC/ MBC/ DNC/ SC/ ST etc. as per the rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Reservations are also provided for the Physically handicapped/Ex-Servicemen/ Sports persons/ other state candidates.

A Valid TANCET/GATE are prerequisite for admission to TCE for PG courses.

M.C.A. Program

Admission to the M.C.A. Course is carried out through the Single Window System. Candidates should have passed a Bachelor's Degree in 10+2+3 pattern with core Mathematics at 10+2 School level (or) with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level. In addition to this, candidates should have appeared for the Entrance Examination (TANCET) conducted by Anna University, Chennai- 600025. Students can choose the college based on the rank calculated by their marks in the TANCET.

M.S. (By Research) & Ph.D. Program

All the departments of Engineering, Science, Computer Applications, and Architecture admit scholars for Ph.D. / MS (Research) programs (Full Time / Part Time) through the Centre for Research, Anna University.

The candidate who wants to pursue a Ph.D. / MS (Research) programs (Full Time / Part Time) have to forward his/her application to Anna University through our college.

Anna University calls for applications for admission to Ph.D. / MS (Research) programs (Full-time / Part-time) twice in a year, normally during September/ October for succeeding year January admissions and February / March for July admissions.

Admission for PhD and M.E through QIP

The following departments offer admissions to the program (Under Full-Time mode) under the AICTE - QIP scheme for the faculty sponsored by AICTE approved Engineering Institutions.

Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Business Systems, Information Technology, Mechatronics, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

One of the QIP Principal Coordinating Centers (IITs or IISc) calls for applications for admission to PhD (Full Time) once in a year. Admitted PhD candidates will do Pre-PhD work in the succeeding year.

Final admission to PhD under QIP will be offered only in the subsequent year through Anna University after fulfilling Anna University norms.

The following departments offer admissions to the M.E Programme under the AICTE - QIP scheme for the faculty sponsored by AICTE-approved Polytechnic Institutions.
