Northcap University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a fully-fledged institution that is not subject to AICTE approval. It is an affiliate of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is recognized through the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is monitored through the Bar Council of India (BCI) for legal education.
Approval by AICTE: As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions associated with Universities need approval. Since the University is a bona genuine university that was established by a State Act, it does not need AICTE approval. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC): The NAAC is a government-owned institution in India that accredits and assesses Higher Education Institutions. It is an independent body that is funded through the University Grants Commission and headquartered in Bangalore.
Bar Council Of India (BCI): The BCI is an official body created in section 4 of the Advocates Act 1961 that regulates the practice of law as well as educational requirements for lawyers in India. Its members are selected from among the lawyers of India and thus are the representatives of all of the Indian bar.
