Library

Mysore University Library is growing to become one of the leading university libraries in the country with a rich collection of books, journals, reports, rare materials, and archives, with a total collection of more than 1.2 million items in its system. The library collection has grown since the days of His Highness Maharaja Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar who encouraged building a need-based library collection for the Raja’s Free School and also encouraged the reading habit among academic circles way back in the middle of the 19th Century.

Medical Facilities

Mysore University Day Care Centre is established on the Manasagangotri campus, next to the Human Development Wing of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. This center functions under the management of the Advisory Committee and works from morning 9:00 a.m. to evening 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. It will remain closed on all Sundays, Second Saturdays, Public holidays, and on days when the University of Mysore declares the holiday.

Sports Facilities
  • The Department of Physical Education possesses the following Sports Infrastructural Facilities, International Sized Swimming Pool Measuring 50 x 21 meters with Changing Rooms, Gents and Multigym Hall, etc.
  • Multi-Purpose Gymnasium Hall (Indoor Hall) Measuring 120X80 Feet with Provision for Indoor Badminton, Basketball, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Weight Lifting, and Wrestling.
  • Three Cricket Grounds of which is a Standard Cricket Stadium with Six Turf Pitches at Manasagangothri Campus with a Players Pavilion, Dormitory, and Spectators Gallery to Accommodate 15000 Spectators.
NSS

It is my privilege to welcome all the NSS fraternity to the National Service Scheme of the University of Mysore. The University has recently celebrated its Centenary and at this point, the University of Mysore has bagged the most prestigious Indira Gandhi NSS National Award for the year 2015-16 in recognition of the brilliant achievement of the University for the past several years. The University has a long tradition in National Service Scheme since its inception in the University of Mysore in 1969. The ultimate aim of the National Service Scheme is the Personality Development of students and youths through Community Service.
