The Training & Placement Cell was established at Usha Mittal Institute Of Technology (UMIT, Mumbai) in the academic year 2000-2001 to invite various national and multinational companies to the campus for recruitment purposes. To accomplish this goal, students undergo training sessions focused on aptitude tests, group discussions, personal interviews, and technical interviews with industry experts.
Regular Industry Interaction Forums are organized to familiarize students with career prospects in their respective fields and to bridge the gap between academic aspirations and industry expectations. These forums feature presentations by leading IT companies, offering valuable insights into their company profiles and discussing career opportunities for fresh engineers.
1. Students are permitted to participate in selection processes until they receive a job offer, provided they meet the specified criteria.
2. Students are prohibited from requesting organizations to keep offers pending, as such requests violate placement norms.
3. Additionally, students are not allowed to request extensions for communicating their decisions on job offers from future employers. Once a job offer is accepted, it is considered final, and the student is no longer eligible for placement assistance.
4. All job offers from a particular company will be announced after that company's selection process. These offers must be communicated through the Placement cell.
Withdrawal Procedure
1. Students may withdraw from consideration for a particular company after the Pre Placement Talk.
2. Once the selection process has commenced, students cannot withdraw unless they have received a final offer from another organization. It is assumed that students apply for positions after careful consideration of all relevant factors.
