Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
Engineering: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Business Administration with a first-class or a minimum of 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale). Equivalent qualifications like M.Sc (Engineering) or M.S. in Research are also accepted. Admission is based on VITREE exam scores, merit in the qualifying examination, research output, and personal interview.
Vellore Institute of Technology Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) is an online multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam administered by the VIT Group of Institutions for admission to PhD and Direct PhD programs. Scheduled for May 5, 2024, the application deadline for VITREE 2024 is April 25, 2024. The test lasts for 2 hours with no negative marking; candidates receive one mark for each correct answer. The examination is conducted exclusively in English.
Please Note: Full-time Ph.D. scholars must complete a minimum study duration of 30 months, while part-time scholars require 36 months. Direct Ph.D. candidates are required to complete a 4-year course duration.
