TRAINING

A structured training program of 120 hours is implemented for all UG and PG students, spread over their academic semesters. This training focuses on these areas: Programming Language, Data Structures, Algorithms, Domain Knowledge, Professional English Communication, and Aptitude. Regular and rigorous assessments are conducted for all students appearing for campus placements. Mock Interviews in the HR and Technical domains are arranged regularly by the T&P Department.

A series of Lectures are arranged with the help of Corporate Stalwarts to make students aware of Expectations by Corporations and Industries from young engineers. Orientation programs for placements and career guidance seminars on Higher Education in India and foreign countries are organized to help students plan their careers.

INTERNSHIPS

Companies offer Summer Internships to B.Tech 2nd year, 3rd year, and M.Tech 1st year students. Summer internships offer an opportunity for students to work in a professional space, on the technologies they are learning on campus. This exposure helps them when they decide to join the industry as working professionals. Internships are a great way for companies to attract good students and monitor them during their tenure. Based on the performance of the intern, the companies extend a Pre-Placement offer (PPO) to the interns and inform the T & P department about their decision.

Note:

Tech students, upon completion of their 3rd year, can pursue summer internships for 8-10 weeks. (Tentatively 13th May 2024 to 19th July 2024)

Tech students have the provision to pursue year-long internships (July 2023 to April 2024) in their final year.

The T&P Dept also supports the students in applying for training at various Govt undertaking units like PSUs, Research Units, Defence Organizations, units of Central Govt, or any state govt, by arranging NOCs and related documents.

CAMPUS PLACEMENTS

Various public and private sector organizations are invited for campus recruitment of final-year students. The Placements at VNIT have been on a consistent rise for the last three years. For the Batch 2023 passout, 1000 students from all UG and PG courses got placed through Campus Placements. 1233 job offers were released till 03 July 2023.

239 leading organizations across diverse sectors participated in the Campus Placements. 56 companies visited us on campus whereas others conducted the selection process virtually. These included all the major companies like Google, D.E Shaw, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citi India, Siemens, BNY Mellon, J.P.Morgan Chase, Deloitte USI Consulting, L&T Group, Bajaj Auto, Godrej Industries, Vedanta, IOCL, Fractal Analytics and many more.

Along with core-sector jobs, over the past few years, students have also shown a keen interest in jobs in IT and Software, Management and Consultancy firms, Educational Organizations, and even Start-Ups. While core disciplines attract students with strong technical know-how, other sectors invariably open doors to students interested in dynamic work profiles and aptitude-based skill requirements.
