Admission Requirements

B.E. and B.Tech.

Four year B.E. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication and Computer Science & Engineering and Four Year B.Tech Degree in Information Technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• - A pass in HSC (Academic) with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (OR)
• - A pass in HSC (Vocational Stream) with Engineering Vocational subjects and any one or two of related subjects (Maths, Physics and Chemistry) (OR)
• - Diploma in one of the Engineering Courses (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics) (OR)
• - Any other Equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education/Higher Secondary Board of Tamilnadu. Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than two appearances. Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than three appearances.

Minimum Marks:

• - For SC/ST candidates, a mere pass in the qualifying examination will suffice.
• - Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have obtained the following minimum percentage of marks.
• A) H.S.C. (Academic) and other equivalent candidates
• OC – 45% average in the related subjects | BC – 40% average in the related subjects | MBC / DNC – 40% average in the related subjects | SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects
• B) H.S.C. (Vocational) Candidates
• OC – 45% average in the related subjects | BC – 40% average in the related subjects | MBC / DNC – 40% average in the related subjects | SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects
• C) Diploma Holders
• OC – 45% average in the related subjects |BC – 40% average in the related subjects |MBC / DNC – 40% average in the related subjects |SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects

B.E. Degree

The duration of the Course is eight semesters. The first year is directed to a course in theoretical and practical understanding of basic mathematical, scientific and technological ideas, which are common to all the branches namely Biomedical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering. The branch allocation is done in the first year itself through counseling. Each branch specializes in its own field while imbibing broad Ideas from other branches. Intensive theoretical and practical coaching is given in each branch of study. Project works are encouraged systematically and extensively to train the students to apply the theoretical knowledge to practical problems.

B.Tech. Degree

B.Tech Information Technology

The Course is of eight semesters duration leading to a degree in Information Technology.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications)

The primary objective of the course is to develop human resources in Computer Applications with special emphasis on software development. The course gives an exhaustive training in Computer Applications with a prudent blend of Theory and practice. The duration of the course is 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria for MCA

A Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

MBA (Master of Business Administration)

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

A pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination in any one of the criteria :

1. 10+2+3/4 years pattern (or)
2. 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern (or)
3. BE / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm (or)
4. AMIE with 2 years regular full-time Teaching experience / Industrial experience in the relevant field after passing all the subjects.
