(1)About  AMIE exam:

"Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers" is the full title of the AMIE examination. The Indian Institution of Engineers issues the professional certification known as AMIE. B Tech is the same as AMIE. Nevertheless, it is ongoing education. This indicates that working engineering professionals should pursue AMIE. If you pass Section A and want to apply for Section B, you have to fill out a certificate of job engagement that is included with the form. The largest and most prestigious professional organization for engineers in India is the Institution of Engineers (India), also known as IEI or AMIE Kolkata. Over seven lakh people belong to the IEI, which encompasses fifteen engineering fields. It has 76 Local Centres scattered across India and 27 State Centres located in state capitals. Diplomas from polytechnics like IETE, IME, ICE, IGNOU, CIPET, and NTTF, among others, Certificate following ITI (lateral entry). After completing class X, candidates will be considered for Senior Technician Membership of the Institution if they have successfully completed two-year ITI/Vocational Courses in a specific trade and have gotten lateral entry directly into the second year of three-year Engineering Diploma Courses offered by their respective State Board of Technical Education. It is, yes. This AMIE certificate, according to the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development, is comparable to an engineering degree. In addition to its previous recognition, the Government of India has declared that successful completion of the revised sections A and B of the AMIE examinations, which are administered by The Institution of Engineers (India), is equivalent to earning a bachelor's degree from a recognized Indian university in the relevant engineering field and has notified in the gazette of India, Part I, Section I, dated February 11, 2006.

Time period required to complete AMIE

The IEI stipulates a maximum of six years for completing AMIE A in order to pass Section A, and another six years for passing Section B. Annual exams are held in June and December. You can only test in four subjects at once. You must apply for re-registration if you are unable to pass each section within the allotted time.

(2)AMIE 2023 Eligibility criteria:

Requirements for admission Polytechnic Diploma, Diploma from IETE, IME, ICE, IGNOU, CIPET, and NTTF, among others

Certificate following ITI (lateral entry). After completing class X, candidates will be considered for Senior Technician Membership of the Institution if they have successfully completed two-year ITI/Vocational Courses in a specific trade and have gotten lateral entry directly into the second year of three-year Engineering Diploma Courses offered by their respective State Board of Technical Education. Section A and Section B are the two sections. The following are the eligibility requirements for each group:

Candidates are eligible to apply if they have passed the English language portion of the qualifying exam with a total score of at least 45 percent and a total score of 45 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The following is a list of qualifying examinations:

1. English, mathematics, physics, and chemistry sections of the intermediate science exam.
2. B.Sc. examination involving chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
3. An examination in the first year of a three-year Bachelor's degree program in any combination of Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry. Additionally, the candidate must have passed the English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sections of the Pre-University or Higher Secondary Examination
4. After ten years of formal schooling, the final exam of the two-year course (10+2+3) that includes English, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. It can be given by any State Board of Higher Secondary Education or a recognized Indian university.
5. The first-year exam of the five-year integrated engineering course or the pre-professional engineering exam. Examination prior to engineering.
6. The West Bengal Board of Apprenticeship Training Admissions exam.
7. The B.Arch. preliminary examination held by the University of Calcutta
8. The B.Tech. first-year examination ( Education) at the Ajmer Regional College of Education.
9. The two-year program offered by Khadakvasla and Dehradun's Indian Military Academy and National Defence Academy.
10. Kerala's Directorate of Vocational Higher Secondary Education's Vocational Higher Secondary Course.
11. The National Open School's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in New Delhi.
12. Certificate in - Diesel Mechanics, Electrical Instrument Mechanics, Surface Coating Technology from the Maharashtra Board of Technical Examinations, and Fitter Vocational Training at Sumant Moolgaonkar Engineering Institute in Kymore, Madhya Pradesh.
13. B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Computer Science earned at the Bhuch-based Narmada College of Science and Commerce.

Eligibility Requirements for Different Classes:

I Technician Staff:

Candidates who pass the Standard XII Examination (45% minimum aggregate) are eligible to become Technician Members immediately.

Senior Technicians from Group II:

Must be at least 18 years old on the application date for selection or transfer.

He or she should be an engineer by trade and work for a Corporate Member or someone who has the qualifications to be elected as a Corporate Member. Additionally, the candidate should work toward meeting the requirements for Corporate Membership (temporary unemployment is not a barrier to election).

The candidate must have passed a diploma in engineering or technology or an equivalent exam recognized by the Council, or be exempt from passing Section A of the Institution of Engineers exam in the non-diploma stream, as recognized by the Council.

Grading system

What are the prospects after passing AMIE?
You will become an IEI Corporate Member after passing the AMIE exams.

You can take the M.E. or M.Tech. GATE exams. courses; you can now work as a consultant in your chosen engineering field; you can participate in a number of competitive exams, such as You could be promoted in numerous government, private, and public sector departments with IES, IAS, and MBA degrees. You could also apply for higher positions.

The Engineering Profession's Practice With a Chartered Engineer's Certificate from the IEI, you can work independently as an engineering consultant both in India and abroad. When working as a Value and Loss Assessor for a variety of government agencies and financial institutions, this certification adds value. After paying the required fee, Corporate Members are eligible to receive a Chartered Engineer certificate. 

(4) AMIE EXAM 2023 Application form

The Institution of Engineers, India (IEI) administers the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) Program and Examination. A degree in AMIE is recognized by the AICTE, UPSC, SSC, Central Government Departments, State Governments, and other organizations as equivalent to an engineering degree.

(i) Summer Examinations, and (ii) Winter Examinations.

Sections A & B Examinations of IEI (popularly known as AMIE Examinations) are conducted in 65 Examination Centres in the country and also in five overseas chapters (Kathmandu, Abu Dhabi, Baharain, Doha and Kuwait).
