Analyse complete of all three sections of the CAT 2022 exam
The 27th November will see the CAT 2022 conference.
Common Admission Test (CAT), which is taken every year by
thousands of management aspirants, is held annually by one of the older IIMs. It
is the main criterion to be admitted to top Indian B-schools. The CAT,
which is computer-based and is considered the most difficult MBA entrance exam,
evaluates candidates' general aptitude skills.
Candidates are eager to find out about their performance and
their chances of being accepted at a top-ranked B-school after the exam. Here
is a detailed analysis on CAT 2022 exam.
CAT2022: An

CAT2022
Exam Analysis
The CAT can be conducted in three slots. There are slight
differences between papers and the difficulty levels and questions. The
overall difficulty level remains the same across all slots. VARC's
difficulty level was also relatively high this time. Here's a section-wise
analysis for CAT 2022.
Reading
comprehension
The verbal portion was more difficult than expected. It
had four RC passages ranging from 400 to 500 words each and 4-5 questions. Para jumbles, para summary, and odd-one-out were also used in other questions. VARC had
4-5 non-MCQs, so most questions were difficult.
A total of 15+
questions must be answered correctly to get a high score
Data Interpretation
and Logical Reasoning
This section was similar to last year. Each set
contained 4-6 questions. The reasoning sets are presented in tabular
format. This section was, as usual, the longest and most difficult.
A fair percentile is
achieved by answering 12+ questions correctly.
Quantitative
Aptitude
The Quant section had a mixture of easy and difficult questions. Most
questions were arithmetic-based and commercial mathematics. Algebra,
Geometry & Mensuration, and Modern Maths were also important topics. The
quant section is manageable if you take the right approach.
A section that
contains 15+ questions will be scored at the 99+ percentile.
After the CAT 2022 results have been released, you will be
invited for the next rounds, which include group discussion/exercises,
essay-writing tests, and a personal interview.
CAT Cut-off
To shortlist candidates for the next round, CAT scores and
percentiles will be used. The B-schools consider many other factors when
selecting candidates. These include academic achievement (class 10th marks
and graduation marks), academic diversity, work experience, and so forth. The
following table shows the expected CAT cut-offs for the top B-schools.

Many institutes also use profile-based calling to call
candidates, rather than relying on CAT scores. In other words, even
candidates with a lower percentile but a strong profile can receive calls from
top-ranked schools.
