the bus stop or train station in Pune. The autorickshaw fare from Pune Railway
Station to IUCAA will be approximately Rs during the day. 150/-. The University
Grants Commission established the independent Inter-University Centre for Astronomy
and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune, which is a leading center of research in a
variety of astronomy, astrophysics, and physics fields. The Savitribai Phule
Pune University campus is home to IUCAA. Before applying for INAT, students
make sure they meet the requirements.
Instrumentation,
Multi-wavelength Ground and Space-based Observations and Data Analysis, Solar
Physics, Extra-Galactic Astronomy, High-energy Astrophysics, Gravitational Wave
Astrophysics, Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics, and Large-Scale
Structure, Gravitation, and Cosmology are just a few of the challenging PhD
research topics that IUCAA offers to young, motivated students.
The 10-meter Southern
African Large Telescope (SALT), which is currently operational, the
multi-wavelength AstroSat mission, and the upcoming Aditya-L1 mission all have
IUCAA as an applicant. the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT), an optical observatory
of the next generation; the LIGO-India advanced gravitational wave observatory
that is planned to be built. IUCAA has an excellent library and a computational
facility with high performance.
