Low Score in CUET

Low Score in CUET: The CUET 2025 result will most likely be declared in the last week of July 2025. The CUET UG exam is very competitive as the number of students appearing for this exam is very high. This competitive nature of the exam can make students appearing for the CUET exam 2025 a bit anxious. Usually, a score below 400 in the CUET UG exam is considered a low score based on the previous year exam analysis.

Each participating college that accepts CUET UG scores releases its own CUET cutoff for admission to its undergraduate courses. These cutoffs may vary from one college to another. Having a low score in CUET can be frustrating, but it is not the end of the journey. There are several constructive steps that can be taken to improve the current situation and increase your chances of getting admission to the preferred college or course.

After the declaration of the CUET result 2025, all colleges or universities release course-wise passing marks or CUET cutoff, which is used to shortlist students for admission to various UG courses. Universities and institutes will also release the CUET counselling schedule and merit list based on the CUET result.

CUET Results 2025: Knowing Low Scores and CUET Passing Marks

To know if the student has cleared the CUET exam, they need to check the CUET passing marks released by the participating college or university. As per the CUET exam analysis, a score of 500-650 marks in CUET UG can be considered a good score. Candidates scoring more than 700 marks can fall in the 98-99 percentile category and such candidates are more likely to get admission in courses like BTech, BA LLB, BCom (Hons), etc. in some of the top colleges and universities in India like Delhi University (DU), BHU (Banaras Hindu University), JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University), Ambedkar University, etc. Also, a score less than 200 in the CUET 2025 exam can be considered as a low score. Such a score can give admission in undergraduate courses like BA, BA (Hons), BSc and BSc (Hons) in private and state universities. However, it is important to know that what is considered a low score depends on the course and college the student is applying for, as each university has its own CUET cutoff criteria

A score between 400-600 can be considered an average score in the CUET 2025 exam. Students with such scores are likely to get admission in good colleges in India. The passing marks for CUET 2025 in Delhi University are determined by the Delhi University itself. Additionally, colleges affiliated to DU have the autonomy to determine their individual cutoff criteria based on the CUET result 2025. The passing marks for DU may vary, but some of the top colleges like Hindu College, Lady Shri Ram College, Gargi College, Miranda House, Shri Ram College of Commerce, etc. may have a cutoff of over 700 in CUET 2025.

Additionally, candidates can opt for other UG entrance exams or consider applying to colleges based on merit or management quota. Check the table below to know the low score and good score criteria in CUET exam.
