Maharshi Dayanand University established in 1976 as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly 1976  named after the saint Dayananda Saraswati. The University campus is spread over an area of 622 acres. MDU offers undergraduate arts and engineering programs that award a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree.
