The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are famous business schools in India that offer a variety of postgraduate, doctoral, and executive programs in management. 21 IIMs in India are top-ranked MBA colleges that guarantee a successful career also ranked among the top 50 best B-schools in India by MHRD-NIRF. The oldest IIMs dominate the first six positions in the rankings every year.
Admission to the MBA/PGP program of the IIMs is based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) but For some executive MBA courses, the GMAT score is accepted for both domestic and foreign candidates. The top 3 IIMs are the oldest campuses. IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta were established 1961whereas IIM Bangalore was established 12 years later in 1973. Between 2008 and 2016, 14 IIMs were established. IIM Mumbai was earlier NITIE Mumbai and was renamed IIM Mumbai in 2023.
