Introduction of Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Design of Mechanical Equipment
M.Tech in Mechanical Equipment Design is a two-year postgraduate degree focusing mainly on the concepts and processes involved in designing and manufacturing machines and machine-related objects. During this course, students learn about machine design issues, engineering materials, techniques, principles, statistical concepts, and their mechanical properties.
Machine design is a synthesis of mathematics, kinematics, statics, and dynamics, material mechanics, material science, engineering, and engineering drawing. The M.Tech in Machine Design program focuses on Theory of Plates and Shells, Advanced Vibrations, Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, and more. A bare minimum qualification of science-based graduation (B Tech/ B.E) from a reputed college/ university is mandatory to apply for the programme. Machine Design should have been an essential subject in high school. In addition to this, aspiring candidates must pass the GATE / NET or other National level Entrance Exam with a qualifying score (generally 60% in most cases) according to the college or the University norms.
