What is NEET PG 2025?

NEET PG 2025 (National Eligibility with Entrance Test for Post Graduation) is conducted to enable admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the exam once a year by computer. The marks are also used for admission to the MBBS DNB degree course. The exam has 13,649 MS seats, 26,168 MD seats and 922 PG diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India.

NEET PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to apply for the exam or who want to participate in the counselling process must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The NEET PG Eligibility Criteria is also published along with the bulletin by NBE. The eligibility criteria for NEET PG are summarised below:

1. Candidates must possess a recognised MBBS degree/Provisional Pass Certificate as per the provisions of the Medical Council of India Act, 1956
2. They must also possess a Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate of the Medical Council of India. or State Medical Council MBBS qualification
3. They must have completed their internship on or before August 2025.

NEET PG 2025 Syllabus

The Students need to go through the syllabus before the exam, as it helps to get familiar with the topics in advance. NEET PG 2025 Syllabus contains the subjects of Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by the Medical Council of India with the prior approval of the Government of India.

NEET PG 2025 Application Form

NEET PG 2025 application form is now available on the official website NBE-nbe.edu.in. NEET PG 2025 registration is an online process and involves five main steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website and register using your name, email ID, and mobile number.
Step 2: Fill in the online application form with personal, academic, internship, and contact details.
Step 3: Upload scanned images of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and left thumb impression as per the given format.
Step 4: Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
Step 5: After successful payment, submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.
Step 6: Use the edit window to correct any mistakes or update images, if needed.
Step 7: Select your preferred exam city during the specified window.
Step 8: Download the admit card when released and appear for the exam on the scheduled date.

NEET PG Exam Fee 2025

NEET PG 2025 Admit Card

The NEET PG 2025 Admit Card will be released online. Candidates must download the NEET PG Admit Card 2025 from the official website. Candidates are advised to check all the details from the NBE official website after downloading the hall ticket. Candidates must print a copy of the admit card and attach a recent passport-size photograph with it. The admit card should be kept till the end of the admission process. Photo specifications are as follows:

Photograph specification:

1. A photograph of a minimum size of 35 mm x 45 mm and covering at least 75 per cent of the applicant's face and head
2. At the bottom of the photograph, there is an inscription with the applicant's name and the date the photograph was taken.
3. The photo must be taken with a white/very light background
4. The photo must be printed on good-quality paper with a resolution of at least 600 dpi
5. Colour appearance and skin tone should be natural
6. The photo should not have folds, scratches or stains
7. A photo with reflections or shadows on the red eyes of the face should be avoided

NEET PG 2025 Exam Pattern

Candidates must know the NEET PG Exam, as it will help the candidates to prepare. NEET PG Exam contains information about the exam paper, which includes format, medium, question number, duration and scoring system. NEET PG 2025 will be conducted online. The question paper has 200 multiple-choice questions, which candidates have 3.5 hours to answer. A negative mark is given in the exam. For each correct answer, the candidate receives 4 points, and for an incorrect answer, one point is deducted.

NEET PG 2025 Result

The NEET PG 2025 result will be announced by 3 September 2025 on the official websites. The result will be released as a PDF file containing the names, roll numbers, scores, and All India Ranks of the successful candidates.

Individual scorecards of the candidates can be downloaded a few days later, after the announcement of the result, by the candidate logging into the account using the application ID and password. The score is valid for the ongoing academic year and is employed for admission into MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. Candidates must score the minimum cutoff percentile (50th percentile for General, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC, and 45th percentile for PwD candidates) to be eligible. Only eligible candidates may undergo counselling.

NEET PG Exam Counselling 2025

Once the result is declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) carries out the NEET PG counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and AFMS institutes. The other 50% state quota seats are dealt with by the concerned state counselling authorities. The steps involved in the NEET PG counselling process are as follows:

1. Registration on the MCC website
2. Choice filling and locking of choice colleges and courses
3. Seat allotment based on rank, preference, and category
4. Reporting to the college allotted and document verification

Four rounds are generally there: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Guidelines and schedule need to be followed carefully by the candidates to prevent disqualification.

NEET PG 2025 Cut off

NEET PG will publish NBE 2025 after the publication of the cutoff results. NEET PG cut-off means the minimum possible marks you should get in the entrance exam. Cut-off depends on various factors like the total number of candidates, availability of seats and difficulty level of the exam.

NEET PG 2025 Last-Minute Preparation Tips

As you might know that there are a few hours left for the NEET PG exam, here are some last-minute preparation tips you can use to get your desired score-

1. Revise smart instead of editing everything. Work with your handwritten notes and concentrate on high-yield topics and the topics in which you are weak.
2. Practice daily mock tests. This will prepare you mentally for the exam day as well as in terms of preparation.
3. Emphasise image-based questions. NEET PG contains a reasonable proportion of image-based questions like X-rays and ECGs, and you should be good at them.
4. Take sufficient rest and master test-taking strategies. Learn to manage anxiety and remain calm to provide your best effort.

NEET PG 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

1. Admit Card Confirmation: Candidates must carry a printed copy of their NEET Admit Card, which is an important document including details like exam centre, roll number and other related details.
2. Identification Requirements: Along with the Admit card, applicants must provide a valid photo ID (eg Aadhar card, passport or driver's license) for identity verification.
3. Registration Period: Students are advised to reach the examination centre well before the scheduled start time. Only those who arrive on time can enter the examination hall.
4. Biometric verification: Biometric verification (fingerprint and photo) is usually done at the test centre to ensure the authenticity of the candidates.
5. Seating arrangement: Candidates will be assigned specific seats in the examination hall and must sit in the seat indicated on the admit card.
6. Duration of Exam: The NEET exam has a fixed duration, and candidates have to manage their time effectively in each section of the question paper.
7. Exam Booklet and Answer Sheet: Candidates will receive an Optical Character Recognition (OMR) exam booklet and answer sheet. It is important to correctly fill in the information on the answer sheet and mark the answers correctly.
8. Prohibited actions: Leaving the exam hall before the end of the exam period is generally not allowed. Any violation of the rules may result in disciplinary action.
