NEET PG 2024 Eligibility Criteria

NEET PG 2024 exam date is 23rd June. The authority has published the eligibility criteria for the NEET PG 2024 exam in the booklet. The notification has separately mentioned 50% seats of All India Quota (AIQ), Foreigners (FN), Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) requirements and also common requirements.

General NEET PG eligibility criteria 2024

The below sections mention the eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2024 which are common to all candidates irrespective of class, nationality, place of residence etc.

1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have an MBBS degree or provisional degree. The MBBS pass is recognized by the Medical Council of India Act, 1956.
2. Registration Certificate: Candidates must have registration (permanent/provisional) for MBBS qualification issued by MCI or State Medical Council (SMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI).
3. Internship: As per eligibility criteria, NEET PG candidates must complete the one-year internship on or before 15th August 2024.

NEET PG Attempt limit

NEET PG exam cannot be conducted at most. The institution has not defined the age limit for NEET PG 2024. Candidates can take the exam as many times as they want to complete their postgraduate medical degree.

Eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2024: AIQ 50% seats

To get 50% AIQ seats, candidates must fulfil the criteria below:

1. As per NEET PG 2024 eligibility criteria, medical graduates from Jammu and Kashmir states are not eligible for AIQ 50% seats.
2. Only those JandK candidates nominated by the Government of India to pursue MBBS in Jammu and Kashmir Medical College are eligible for AIQ 50% seats. These candidates must submit a duly signed certificate confirming that they have been appointed by the Government of India in the above mentioned category.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2024: For Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals who want to apply for NEET PG 2024 must fulfil the following eligibility criteria. They must have completed a basic medical qualification duly recognized by the Medical Council of the respective country. They must be registered with the relevant institution of the respective country. Such candidates do not require an MCI registration certificate to apply for NEET PG 2024. If they clear the exam and get a seat through NEET PG, they will have to pay the registration fee to MCI after which they will be registered with provisional registration. Registration is only valid for the duration of the relevant course.

NEET PG 2024 reservation determines the seat limits for reserved and unreserved category candidates.
