It has been observed that recently joining courses in the Field of design has become rampant, especially when it comes to India. However, joining such courses can still be an uphill task owing to the fiercely competitive nature of this field. To help reduce some of that pressure, the NID or the National Design Institute of India will be conducting an Entrance for the students known as NID DAT on the 4th of February 2025. Admission into NID’s various programs is based on the Performance Norms of NID, the two main components being the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) and the Interview/Studio Test. First, the DAT: The examination assesses a candidate’s design skills, creativity and reasoning problems. The second stage is a personal or studio interview test where candidates who are shortlisted for admission display their skills in design tasks and in interviews with the panel. This means that a candidate must be successful in both stages in order to be eligible for admission into the colleges which will take part in scheme. For NID DAT 2025 the counselling session which includes award of seats to candidate on the basis of their scores in DAT and interview, is important. The process of assigning seats to candidates is done in phases wherein a candidate selects the campus and program of his/her choice. The allocation of available seats is done in phases until all available seats are filled. All candidates should attend the process of online counselling session which is held after announcing the results. Non-stamp status in terms of that the seats if granted are dependent on AI rank and institution rank and preference metric only. But after this, every candidate is required to fulfill the stipulated requirements in all the required documentation in order to secure a place in the specific program of their choice.
