SRMJEEE 2025 Selection Process: Application, Exam Pattern, Counseling, and Admission

Step 1. Application Process

The first step in the selection process is to apply online for SRMJEEE. The application process includes:

1. Online registration: Candidates need to visit the official SRMIST website and register by providing basic information such as name, contact number, email id and selecting the desired course.
2. Filling the application form: After registration, candidates need to fill in personal, educational and communication details in the application form. They also need to choose the preferred exam centre and upload scanned documents including a recent passport size photograph and signature.
3. Paying application fee: After filling the application form, candidates need to pay the application fee online through debit/credit card or net banking. The application fee is non-refundable.
4. Submitting the application: After paying the fee, candidates need to submit the application form. It is advised to download and print the acknowledgement for future reference.

Step 2. Admit Card Download

After successful registration, candidates will receive their SRMJEEE admit card. This document is important for appearing in the exam. The admit card contains essential information such as:

1. Candidate's name and roll number
2. Exam date, time and venue
3. Instructions to be followed on the day of the exam

Candidates must check the details mentioned on the admit card carefully and carry it to the exam centre along with a valid ID proof.

Step 3. SRMJEEE Exam Pattern and Preparation

The SRMJEEE exam is conducted in an online mode (computer-based test). The exam pattern is as follows:

1. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English, and Aptitude
2. Total Questions: 125 questions (multiple-choice)
3. Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
4. Marking Scheme:
• 1 mark for each correct answer
• No negative marking for incorrect answers

Each subject carries a weightage of different questions:

1. Physics: 35 questions
2. Chemistry: 35 questions
3. Mathematics/Biology: 40 questions
4. English: 5 questions
5. Aptitude: 10 questions

For candidates applying for the B.Tech Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering programs, the Biology section is mandatory instead of Mathematics.

Step 4. Taking the SRMJEEE Exam

SRMJEEE is a competitive exam, and it is important for candidates to be well-prepared. On the day of the exam, candidates should:

1. Reach the exam centre well in advance to avoid last-minute rush.
2. Carry the admit card and a valid government-issued ID.
3. Follow all instructions given by the exam invigilators.

During the exam, candidates should:

2. Make sure they do not leave any question unanswered as there is no negative marking.

Step 5. SRMJEEE Result Declaration

Once the exam is conducted, SRMIST releases the SRMJEEE results online. Candidates can check their results by:

2. Log in using their credentials (application number and date of birth).
3. Downloading the result or rank card, which contains the All India Rank (AIR) and subject-wise scores.

Step 6. SRMJEEE Counseling Process

After the results are declared, candidates who qualify for the exam are called for the SRMJEEE counselling process. The counselling process is conducted in two stages- online counselling and offline counselling (for some campuses). Here is how it works:

a. Online counselling:

1. Registration for counselling: Qualified candidates need to register online for the counselling process. They need to select their preferred campus and course during registration.
2. Seat allotment: Based on the candidate’s rank, seat availability, and preferences, the seat allotment process takes place. Seat allotment will be done through a merit-based system. Candidates will be informed about their allotted course and campus.
3. Provisional allotment letter: Once a seat is allotted, candidates receive a provisional allotment letter. They need to download this letter and keep it for future use.
4. Payment of counselling fee: After seat allotment, candidates need to pay the counselling fee to confirm their seat. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid online. It is important to pay the fee within the stipulated time to secure a seat.
5. Document Verification: After paying the fee, candidates will have to upload scanned copies of the required documents for verification. This usually includes:
1. SRMJEEE Rank Card
2. SRMJEEE Admit Card
3. 10th and 12th Mark Sheets
4. Transfer Certificate
5. Community Certificate (if applicable)
6. Aadhar Card or other ID proof

b. Offline Counseling:

For some campuses or in case of specific instructions by SRMIST, offline counselling may be conducted. In this case:

1. Candidates will have to physically visit the counselling centre with the required documents for verification.
2. Seat allotment will be done on the spot based on merit and seat availability.
3. Candidates will have to pay the required counselling fee at the centre itself.

Step 7. Final Admission Process

After the counseling process, the final admission process begins. This involves:

1. Admission confirmation: After the seat is confirmed, candidates will receive an official admission confirmation from SRMIST. They will be given details about the commencement of classes, fee payment schedule, and other necessary instructions.
2. Fee payment: Candidates have to pay the remaining tuition fee as per the university schedule. This is mandatory to complete the admission process.
3. Reporting to campus: Finally, candidates have to report to the allotted SRM campus on the date mentioned by the institute. They have to submit their original documents for verification and complete other formalities like hostel admission (if applicable).
