UPCET 2026 Exam

The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE), presently commonly referred to as UPCET (Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test), is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) in Uttar Pradesh. It acts as a door to admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management, pharmacy, and architecture, offered in colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh.

UPCET 2026 consists of multiple-choice questions and is conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode. UPCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UPCET may be slightly different depending on the particular course you opt for. The following are the common eligibility conditions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses available through UPCET.

Undergraduate Courses (B.Tech /B.Pharm /B.Arch /BHMCT /BFAD /BFA/B.Des)

Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian citizen. NRI candidates and foreign nationals can also apply for the specified seats reserved for them.

Age Limit: No age limit is required to seek admission in the majority of undergraduate courses. But for admission to the first year of B.Arch., the candidate should have attained the age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission.

Educational Qualifications:

Tech/B.Pharm: The candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

Arch: Aspirants should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Mathematics as a mandatory subject and should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/B.Des: Candidates should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination in any stream.

(Postgraduate Courses (MBA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Pharm)

Nationality: The candidates should be Indian citizens. NRI candidates and foreign nationals may also apply for some seats reserved for them.

Age Limit: There is no age restriction for postgraduate courses.

Educational Qualifications:

  1. MBA: The candidates should have a bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years duration from a recognised university.
  2. MCA: The candidates should have a minimum of three years duration bachelor's degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level or at the graduate level.
  3. Tech: Applicants should hold a B.Tech/B.E. qualification or equivalent in the specific discipline.
  4. Pharm: The candidate should possess a B.Pharm degree or an equivalent degree.

The syllabus for UPCET 2026 of the CUET UG/PG entrance exam varies from course to course. The undergraduate course syllabus will cover the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as studied in class 12th.

UPCET 2026 Exam Pattern and Structure

The UPCET 2026 exam pattern presents the format and layout of the entrance test organised by Dr. AJP Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), or better known as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). It includes information like the mode of the exam, question types, marking scheme, etc.

For CUET UG

  1. Exam Mode: The UPCET will be conducted in a hybrid mode, involving both pen-paper and computer-based testing (CBT).

For CUET PG
  1. Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted online through Computer-Based Testing (CBT) mode.
  2. Duration: Candidates will have a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the exam.
  3. Question Type: The question paper will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.
  4. Language: The exam will be available in both Hindi and English. However, the Acharya paper will be conducted in the Sanskrit language only.
  5. Number of Questions: Each paper will contain a total of 75 questions.
  6. Marking Scheme: Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every correct response.
  7. Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score.

UPCET 2026 Application Correction

The UPCET 2026 application correction facility will be opened online once the application process is over. The facility will be offered for two to three days and will be held in a separate process for CUET UG and PG courses.

Registered applicants will be able to view their application forms for correction using their login details, such as the application form number, password, and security pin shown on the page. Correction will only be done during designated sessions allocated for correction purposes.

UPCET 2026 Answer Key

UPCET 2026 Answer Key for both CUET UG & PG exams shall be published separately on the website of National Testing Agency. The answer key shall be available online to the candidates. The provisional answer key shall be published first.

The candidates can object to any disparity identified in the UPCET answer key. The final answer key will be released on the website after evaluating all objections raised. Both the final and provisional answer keys will be in PDF format.

UPCET 2026 Result

The UPCET 2026 result will be uploaded online in the last week of April 2026 for CUET PG and in the last week of June 2026 for CUET UG exams. The candidates must keep their login details handy to view the result on the official website.

To download the UPCET result, candidates will be required to provide their application number and date of birth. The result will be generated based on the final answer key and will contain information such as candidate name, roll number, subject-wise marks, total marks, and qualification status. A printed copy of the result must be kept secure for the counselling process.

UPCET 2026 Cut Off

The UPCET 2026 cutoff scores will be posted online, and the candidates can check them on the official website. These cutoff scores denote the minimum scores one needs to pass in the exam.

Several conditions affect the cutoff, which involves the number of candidates appearing, seats available, the level of difficulty of the exam, and the cutoff marks of previous years. Only candidates who achieve or surpass the cutoff marks will be qualified to attend the counselling sessions.

UPCET 2026 Counselling

The counselling for UPCET 2026 is scheduled for July 2026 and will be held online. Candidates whose names feature in the merit list will go ahead with the counselling. Counselling will take place according to the UPCET rank, and candidates will be invited for final admission as per the same.
