CAT 2024 Exam

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 was conducted on November 24 in three sessions. The CAT answer key 2024 will be released soon on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. The results of CAT 2024 are expected to be released in the last week of January 2025. Candidates who appeared in the CAT exam 2024 rated the CAT slot 1 to be easy overall. The CAT slot 2 exam was long but easy. According to the CAT 2024 slot 3 analysis, the difficulty level of the exam lies in the easy to moderate category.

The CAT exam pattern this year has also undergone a change where the number of questions is now higher than before, at 66 and 68, which means that para jumbles are absent in the VARC section. The IIM Calcutta conducted the test for 3.29 lakh aspirants in 170 cities. The CAT 2024 question paper consists of three sections specifically: VARC: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension DILR: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning QA: Quantitative Ability CAT timings: 8:30 am - 10:30 am, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm Candidates would be given 40 minutes to take each section.

As per the CAT 2024 marking scheme, a candidate will earn three marks for every correct answer. In the objective-type questions, there will be negative markings. This exam will have multiple shifts, and hence, the raw scores of the candidates will be normalized and converted into scaled scores. With CAT 2024, the IIMs and the other participating B-schools shall admit students to their management programmes.
