CBSE has now made it mandatory for schools wanting to use the PM SHRI prefix after their names to wait for an official letter from the Ministry of Education as proof of admission in the year of application.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has published a notification instructing schools to apply online to prefix their names with 'PM SHRI' Schools can complete this registration on the CBSE SARAS official portal: saras.cbse.gov.in/SARAS under the 'Change in Name of School' category, once the online link is reactivated by the board. The CBSE portal for the 2025-26 session is currently closed. Schools can apply when the link opens next year.
