Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) has decided to organize a One-Time Special Supplementary Examination that will be given to former students and those graduating.
The examination that is programmed will accommodate the students who have completed their study period and are still left with some papers that are prerequisites of their degrees.
The full program is open to those students of CUTN who have been in the 1st year of the session 2009-2010, and the Final Year/ Outgoing students up to the 2022-2023 session. The main focus of this initiative is those former and outgoing students who somehow failed some subjects in their graduation, and thus providing a once-in-a-lifetime chance to complete their degrees in their specific fields of study. The aforementioned decision by the university authorities was taken in response to the repeated student requests for more chances to continue the education programs as expected. The majority of the students had numerous personal, academic, and professional difficulties which explain the reasons for prolonged graduation.
Prof. Sulochana Shekhar, Controller of Examinations at CUTN, reflected on the immense need for the conduct of a supplementary examination and its alignment with the major agenda of National Education Policy 2020, expressing, "NEP 2020 aims at flexible and inclusive higher education. For this matter, CUTN's move is student-centered, temporary trouble should not become a permanent educational hindrance. The program is the topicalization of Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Krishnan's guidance, thus, the university is showing a strong commitment to its core values of student-oriented leadership and academic unforgettable."
Students interested and those who are qualified must match their profiles with the requirements of registration at the CUTN exam portal- exam.cutn.ac.in, before the 7th of July, 2025. The students will pay the amount of INR 1,600 for theory and INR 1375 per paper for practical papers they wish to take.
