Delhi University has confirmed admissions of 71,130 undergraduate students for the academic year 2025-26, almost filling the total capacity of 71,624 undergraduate seats across 79 programmes in 69 colleges. The university made this announcement after the third round of seat allocation under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) was announced.
According to Delhi University admission data, in this round, the university allowed candidates of the first and second allocation rounds to rearrange their college and course preferences. The upgrade window remained open between August 2 and 3.
A total of 34,069 candidates applied for upgrade, while 35,889 candidates opted to defer their earlier allotment. Based on these requests, 5,930 students successfully received upgraded seats as per their higher preferences.

Candidates who accept the seats allotted in this round have to accept the allotted seat and complete the fee payment process by August 7. Failing to do so will result in cancellation of the allotted seat. The document verification and fee submission process is being done by individual colleges.
After the conclusion of this round, the university will release the list of vacant seats on August 8. This will mark the opening of the mid-admission window, which will begin at 5 pm on August 8 and close at 4:59 pm on August 10.

It also provides an opportunity to students whose applications were rejected in the previous stages due to errors in subject mapping or invalid documents. Such candidates can re-enter by paying a non-refundable fee of INR 1,000 and updating their preferences or correcting previous mistakes during the window period.

After the mid-admission phase, the next list of seat allotments will be published on August 13. This phase will also include seats reserved for performance-based courses such as Music, BFA and Physical Education as well as seats reserved under CW (Children of War Widows), ECA (Extracurricular Activities), Sports and Ward quotas. The first allotment list for these quotas is scheduled to be released on August 15.
The last date for completing the entire undergraduate admission process has been fixed as August 19, after which no new admission will be taken. It is worth noting that Delhi University has started its academic session from August 1, 2025, making its calendar in line with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
