The Government of Haryana, with the assistance of the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER), has implemented a continuing education voucher policy for students entering the medical program at Haryana's state-run medical college. Medical students in the state are required to perform compulsory public service for five years after completing their undergraduate studies. The objective of implementing the voucher policy was to provide affordable, high-quality healthcare accessible to all, reduce the gap between the demand and supply of medical professionals for quality healthcare in the state, and incentivize doctors graduating from state-run or government-aided medical colleges to work in the public sector to expand and strengthen overall healthcare services in the state.
If students choose not to take responsibility for posting the bond, they will be required to pay a fine. This fine varies by gender. Female candidates must pay 23,19,381 Indian rupees (INR), while male students must pay 25,77,090 Indian rupees (INR). The bond amount for students enrolled in the Government Aided Medical College (MAMC, Agroha) is 21,90,000 Indian rupees (INR) for men and 19,71,000 Indian rupees (INR) for women.
The Haryana MBBS Bond Policy applies to all candidates enrolled in the MBBS program in government-aided medical colleges starting with the 2021 academic year. However, this policy does not apply to candidates admitted under the NRI quota in government-aided medical colleges established in the state of Haryana.
