The
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is re-launching the MS in
Entrepreneurship. Students
will be able to work with faculty members to commercialize ideas'.
They
will be taught how to find entrepreneurial opportunities and officially
establish their businesses through an effective mix of classes taught intensive
research, expert supervision, and mentoring by highly successful entrepreneurs
and other members from the start-up community.
Ashwin Mahalingam who is on the selection
committee, stated, "The programme will create entrepreneurs in technology
who will "productize" these ideas' and then work on creating business
plans around these ideas. In this manner we aim to facilitate the
"lab to market" technological transition, help develop entrepreneurs,
and ultimately create a greater impact on society."
The
program is open to all students in India that have earned their postgraduate or
undergraduate degrees. The deadline for applying is November 30th
2021. Candidates
interested in applying can do so on research.iitm.ac.in.
The
list of subjects/projects that applicants can apply for is available on the
course's website. The
applicants can select one or more subjects (up to three) that appeal to them. The
applicants who meet the requirements will be invited for an interview.
