Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the opening of more CBSE schools in Australia. This announcement was made in view of the growing demand for CBSE schools among Indian Australians.
The announcement was made while speaking at the third meeting of the Australia-India Education and Skills Council, which was co-organized with Australian Education Minister Jason Clare. The Union Education Minister also said that the two countries have decided to expand their partnership in school, skills, and higher education, emphasizing the vision of competency-based education.
The Education Minister also announced 10 SPRAC collaborative projects with major universities. A letter of intent was also confirmed with the University of New South Wales. The Education Minister further stated that India and Australia will work together on early childhood care, teacher competency enhancement, and sports curriculum development.
Australian Education Minister Jason Clare, speaking at the meeting, said that Australia does not have such a large education partnership with any other country. He said that seven of the 19 foreign universities operating in India are Australian, which demonstrates the strength of the relationship. He also praised the National Education Policy, calling it a major roadmap for transforming learning and skills.
