Karnataka MBBS admissions for the year 2025 are being conducted on the basis of NEET UG 2025 results declared on June 14, 2025, after the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) held on May 4, 2025. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is overseeing the centralised counselling for MBBS/BDS seats in government, private and NRI categories. Applicants had to meet the NEET qualification and state domicile criteria, which could be established through Karnataka residency, parental education records or language eligibility.
This year, the state offers around 12,395 MBBS seats in 71 medical colleges - 3,800 in government colleges, around 6,000 in private institutions and over 2,500 under deemed and NRI quotas. Two new government colleges in Ramanagara and Kanakapura have added around 250 seats. Counselling is expected to begin in early July and will go through multiple rounds - starting with registration and mock allotment, followed by Round 1 seat allotment and continuing with Round 2, mop-up and stray vacancy rounds till November.
