Candidates can appear for the exam in any one of the 41 subjects belonging to humanities, science and commerce and vocational subjects such as economics, history, political science, sociology, geography, law and education.
The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is scheduled to begin the online registration process for Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025 from September 1. According to a note on the official website, the registration link was scheduled to go live at 11 am on the official portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/kset2025. However, the online link is yet to be activated.
The KSET is a state-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as assistant professors in universities and colleges in Karnataka. Candidates can appear for the exam in any one of the 41 subjects belonging to humanities, science and commerce and vocational subjects such as economics, history, political science, sociology, geography, law and education.
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) for General Category and 50% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Transgender, OBC (i.e. Category-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA & IIIB) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination in the subjects opted for KSET from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi.
Candidates who are pursuing Master’s Degree (1st or 2nd) or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared in Master’s Degree (Final Year) examination and whose result is still awaited or whose qualifying examination has been delayed can also apply for this examination.
The exam fee for General, Category-IIA, IIB, IIIB and other state candidates is ₹1000/- while for Category-I, SC, ST, Divyaangjan and Transgender candidates it is ₹700/-. The fee can be paid through online mode.

Step 2: On the homepage, go to the “Admissions” tab and click on Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025.
Step 3: Click on the registration link and enter the required details to begin the process.
Step 4: Fill the online application form carefully.
Step 5: Pay the examination fee through the available online payment options.
Step 6: Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
Step 7: Review all the details entered before final submission.
Step 8: Submit the application form. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
Apart from the information bulletin, KEA has also released the syllabus of KSET 2025 exam on the official website. Currently, the syllabus is made available for the subjects of Tourism Administration & Management, Visual Arts, Urdu and Women Studies.
