Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2025 Live: The Maharashtra government decided to release a new admission schedule on Thursday. The official web portal for First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions crashed after its launch on Wednesday, causing anxiety and confusion among hundreds of thousands of students and parents. The website, which was launched for student registration on Tuesday, crashed around 1 p.m. Education authorities reported that nearly 150,000 students who passed their 10th grade exams this year tried to access the platform simultaneously, leading to technical glitches.
This is the first time the Maharashtra state government has implemented a fully centralized online admissions process for FYJC in the state. The uneven start has raised concerns among many families, already under pressure due to the competitive admissions season.
In a written statement, the Directorate of Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary) acknowledged the interruption and informed students that the registration process would continue until May 28. "The registration process and filling of preference orders will continue in the first round until May 28. We are dedicated to providing the necessary time for each student," the statement said.
This year, admission to Grade 11 in Maharashtra is being held for more than 200,000 seats across 9,281 junior colleges and in the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams, according to details released by the state school education department.
