MBOSE has adopted the NCERT Meghalaya Edition textbooks for all subjects from primary to 10th grade, aligning the secondary school curriculum with the National Curriculum Framework.
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced that the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Meghalaya Edition textbooks will be used for all subjects from primary to 10th grade under the secondary school curriculum. This decision aims to align the state government's education framework with the National Curriculum Framework.
According to the notice, MBOSE-affiliated schools will have to adopt the NCERT-based syllabus for Class 10 and discontinue the old textbooks previously prescribed by the board.
The notice lists the textbooks to be adopted by the board and its affiliated schools, stating, “These textbooks will be applicable in all lower primary, upper primary, and secondary schools under the Meghalaya Board of School Education, from Classes I to X, from the academic session 2026 until further orders.”
The board has asked schools to make the necessary changes so that students receive the revised textbooks before the start of the next academic session.
