The MBOSE stated in its notice that NCERT (Meghalaya Edition) textbooks will be used for all subjects under the secondary school curriculum.
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced that NCERT textbooks will be introduced for Class 10 from the academic session 2025. This decision is part of the state government's efforts to align its schools with the National Curriculum Framework.
The board stated in its notice that NCERT (Meghalaya Edition) textbooks will be used for all subjects under the secondary school curriculum.
According to the notice, MBOSE-affiliated schools will be required to adopt the NCERT-based syllabus for Class 10 and discontinue the old textbooks previously prescribed by the board. This move includes subjects such as Math, Science, Social Science, and English, bringing them in line with the structure of many other boards across the country.
New textbooks have already been approved for lower primary and upper primary classes, and now Class 10 has been added to ensure uniformity across all levels. MBOSE has asked schools to make necessary arrangements so that students receive the revised textbooks before the start of the academic session.
The board has also released an updated syllabus and sample papers for Class 10 based on NCERT textbooks. The revised framework will be applicable for the 2025 exams, and schools will be required to follow the updated curriculum when preparing students for board assessments.
