MBOSE SSLC, HSSLC 2025 Exam Dates Changed Due to Elections

With the elections scheduled in Meghalaya, the MBOSE has announced new changes in the date sheet of MBOSE SSLC and HSSLC board exams to be conducted in 2025. Read the complete article to learn more about it. 

MBOSE SSLC, HSSLC Exam Dates 2025

The Meghalaya Board of School Education reschedules the dates of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate, and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate exams in 2025. The dates have been rescheduled following the timing of the state elections in Meghalaya.

In a notification issued by the board, MBOSE said that the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) elections will start on February 21, while the counting will begin on February 24. This has forced the board to reschedule the dates of some subjects to avoid any clash with the electoral process.

Revised MBOSE SSLC Exam Dates 2025

For the MBOSE SSLC exam, which was scheduled to start on February 10, 2025, and Mathematics and Special Mathematics on February 21, the date for the exam has been postponed to February 25, 2025. This is because the elections were not to interfere with the examination process.

Revised MBOSE HSSLC Exam Dates 2025

The MBOSE HSSLC exams, which were to be held on February 18, 2025, will also change. Three major subjects, such as Physics, Sociology, and Vocational Subjects, will be held in March 2025 instead of February so that the election proceedings do not clash with the exam schedule.

MBOSE SSLC, HSSLC 2025: Details of Revised Dates

Here is the list of revised dates of MBOSE SSLC, and HSSLC 2025 which are mentioned below:

1. The Physics exam for class 12 has been changed from February 24, 2025, to March 6, 2025.
2. The Sociology exam will instead be conducted on March 18, 2025, rather than on February 24, 2025.
3. Exams for Vocational Subjects, including Poultry Farming-IV and Computer Technique-IV, will now be held on March 19, 2025, instead of February 21, 2025.

MBOSE SSLC, HSSLC Exam 2025:Reason Behind Rescheduling

MBOSE decided to classes 10th and 12th reschedule dates after consulting with local authorities about the elections. Since the electoral process and vote-counting activities were scheduled close to the original exam dates, the board ensured that any election-related activities, such as the movement of election materials and personnel, would not disrupt students' exams.

The election schedule of the state government coinciding with the dates of the board exams was the reason why more than four subjects had to be revised for both MBOSE SSLC and HSSLC. This adjustment would ensure smooth and undisturbed examination processes in the schools.

Students appearing for the Meghalaya Board SSLC and HSSLC exams in 2025 will have to alter their study schedules under the new dates. The Meghalaya Board of School Education has taken all possible measures to accommodate the election schedule so that students are not inconvenienced by the electoral process.
