According to reports, the application fee for MHT CET exam will be increased this year. The application fees for approximately 19 CETs conducted by the Maharashtra State CET Cell are expected to be revised. Read on for more details.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) may increase the MHT CET application fee. This increase could range from Rs. 150 to Rs. 250, depending on the exam. Until last year, MHT CET candidates had to pay a fee between Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000, depending on whether the exam was paper-based or computer-based. The application fee for CETs conducted in pen-and-paper mode ranged from Rs. 500 to Rs. 600, while the application fee for computer-based tests ranged from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1,000.
According to reports, the CET Cell has sent a proposal to the Higher and Technical Education Department for approval to increase the registration fees. The CET Cell conducts 19 CETs for admission to 73 courses.
This announcement comes after the CET Cell recently declared the dates for the MHT CET 2026 examination. For the first time, the MHT CET 2026 exam for admission to engineering and pharmacy programs will be conducted twice. The dates for Session 1 of the MHT CET 2026 exam are April 11 to 19 for the PCM group and April 21 to 26 for the PCB group. The dates for Session 2 of the MHT CET 2026 exam are May 14 to 17 for the PCM group and May 10 to 11 for the PCB group.
Last year, MHT CET registrations began on December 30. It is expected that this year as well, MHT CET 2026 registrations will commence by the last week of December 2025.
