The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more key accused persons from Bihar and Jharkhand today, July 16, 2024. The first arrest is Pankaj Kumar or Aditya, from Patna, Bihar. The second arrest has been made from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, of Raju Singh.

A 2017-batch engineer from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, Kumar allegedly stole NEET 2024 question papers from NTA’s trunk in Hazaribagh. He is a resident of Bokaro, Jharkhand.
His associate, who helped him in the stealing of the question papers, has also been arrested by the CBI team. Identified as Raju Singh, Kumar’s associate not only stole the question papers but also passed them on to other gang members, who further spread them among MBBS students to solve the questions. Singh was arrested from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.
The total number of arrests made by the CBI in the NEET 2024 paper leak case has now risen to 14. A few days ago, the CBI arrested another accused named Rakesh Ranjan aka Rocky. He was behind the NEET 2024 paper leak at Factory Road, Kant, Patna. He was produced before a special CBI court last Thursday, which remanded him in 10-day custody.
On June 27, the CBI made its first arrests in the NEET-UG paper leak case and arrested two men from Bihar. Since then, there have been several arrests from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttarakhand in India. However, the Supreme Court hearing on various appeals of NEET 2024 is scheduled for July 18, 2024.
