NEET 2024 Updated Merit List: Reduce Topper Numbers and Cutoffs

The National Testing Agency released the revised NEET 2024 merit list on July 26, 2024. On the same day, the exam authorities also released the NEET 2024 re-revised scorecard and revised answer keys. According to the revised NEET 2024 merit list, the total number of NEET 2024 toppers with a perfect score of 720 decreased from 61 to 17.

The examination authorities released the re-revised scorecard and revised answer keys for NEET 2024 on the same day. According to the revised NEET 2024 merit list, the total number of NEET 2024 toppers with a perfect score of 720 has dropped from 61 to 17. On the other hand, the NEET 2024 cut-off has also been reduced by two marks in each category. 

The total number of toppers in NEET 2024 was 67. After removing grace marks or based on the performance of 813 candidates (who appeared in the NEET 2024 re-test conducted for 1563 candidates who got grace marks) was reduced to 61. 

NEET 2024: Toppers List Revised

According to the NEET 2024 revised merit list, the maximum toppers are from Rajasthan (four), followed by Maharashtra (three) and Delhi (two). Each has one topper from Bihar, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Chandigarh.

NEET 2024: Cutoff Reduced

NTA has released the revised NEET 2024 cut-off along with a re-revised scorecard. The revised cutoff for each category is given in the table below:

The NEET 2024 merit list and scorecard were re-revised as per the Supreme Court verdict wherein it was stated that the controversial NEET 2024 Physics question had only one correct option instead of two, which was stated by NTA in the NEET 2024 final answer keys. This led to the revoking of the bonus marks and a negative marking of one mark to anyone who had marked any other answer option apart from option number four.

The Supreme Court verdict was delivered on 23 July 2024. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to start in 2024. The NEET counselling process will start soon.
