The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will hold National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation (NEET PG) Examination 2025 on August 3, 2025 in single shift, as per the verdict given by Supreme Court. Earlier, the NEET PG 2025 exam was supposed to be held on June 15, 2025, but the apex court denied the conduct of the nationwide medical exam in two shifts.
Candidates will be able to reselect their preferred exam city by logging in to the official website at natboard.edu.in. The window for city selection will be open from June 13 to 17, 2025.
The selection procedure will be first-come, first-served, with the names of the available cities displayed on the NEET PG Application Form 2025. NBEMS will try to arrange exam centres in the candidate's preferred state, but has stated that this cannot be guaranteed due to logistics. If there is no seat in the chosen location, a centre from another region of the country will be assigned. The board has also left the option open to include or omit cities based on operational needs. The exam centres will be mentioned in the admit card. Once the admit card is released, candidates can check it. Read this article for more information about the NEET PG 2025 Revised Schedule.

The NEET PG 2025 Examination was scheduled to be held on June 15, 2025, in two shifts. In order to avoid arbitrariness and irregularities, the new directive by the Supreme Court has modified the two-shift exam conduct to a single one, which will be held on August 3, 2025, as suggested by the technology partner of NEET PG, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The postponement comes in view of the former two-shift system, causing arbitrariness and irregularities in the exam conduct. The new system will allow for transparency in the conduct of examinations across the country.
