If a candidate obtains less than the Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP), they will not receive a merit rank and even if they achieve the Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) in every section, they will not be considered for admission.
How many seats are available for NEST this year, and are there any reservations?
There are altogether 200 seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC, and Divyangjan (PwD) candidates, as per government normes for the academic year 2025-26. In addition to this, there are two additional seats reserved for suitable candidates who belong to Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. If a candidate is shortlisted under the category of OBC-NCL, then he/she is required to furnish a valid certificate during the NEST admission time.
