The National Commission for Indian Medical System (NCISM) will conduct the NExT exam for the first time in history in October 2024. However, the National Exit Test (NExT) for the upcoming academic session is held twice a year in February and in August. The NCISM has released notifications including the NExT exam pattern, eligibility criteria, syllabus and other important details of the exam.
The exam will be taken to grant authorization to practice medicine in the relevant discipline within the Indian medical system and to register as an authorized physician after a year-long internship.

An intern who has completed a minimum of 270 days of internships as of the closing date shall be considered eligible for the NExT exam. Besides, the NExT exam syllabus will be prescribed by NCISM for UG (BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BSRMS) courses.
There shall be no limit to the number of attempts in the NExT exam.
