Latest Update for NEET UG 2024
India’s premier medical entrance examination for undergraduate programs, The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 has received important updates from the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students and the stakeholders are accordingly advised to take cognizance of these latest announcements as they prepare for this examination, which is held on May 5th, 2024.
One of the major NEET 2024 updates by NTA is opening up a registration window where candidates can apply online through the official website. This year’s registration started on December 1st, 2023 and will remain open until January 31st, 2024. The NTA has improved the streamlined registration process for this year with more user-friendly links and fewer technical glitches as compared to previous years.
NEET 2024 is India’s primary test for admission into medical, dental and AYUSH (Ayurveda Yoga & Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homoeopathy) programmes across the country. More than 15 lakh students are expected to take part in this exam which is well known for being one of the toughest competitions during academic years.
The additional important information is on the NEET 2024 exam pattern. NTA continues with last year’s structure having a total of 180 questions which includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. Four options are given as answers to each question that appears in this exam. Then 3 hours are given for writing the exam which consists of those questions. The total marks remain at 720, with each correct answer yielding four marks but an incorrect one leading to a penalty of -1 mark.
Candidates who have registered can only be able to download their admit cards starting from 15th April through the official NTA website till April 24th, 2024. The admit card is an important document as it contains the personal details of the candidate with examination centre details. The candidate must bring along his/her admit card and an identity proof containing a photograph at the venue of the examination.
These guidelines include the use of masks, hand sanitisers and social distancing in the examination hall. Also, candidates need to know these safety protocols for a smooth and safe exam experience.
Therefore, NEET 2024 is all set to be another tough contest for medical candidates all over India. Candidates need to keep themselves updated with the latest information from NTA, to ensure that they complete their registrations on time and follow the guidelines provided for a smooth examination process as much as possible.
