Supreme Court of India has deferred the hearing date regarding transparency in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation (NEET PG) 2024 until the next date. The bench has postponed the hearing petition by 19 NEET PG candidates who filed their petition to the Supreme Court owing to last-minute changes in the examination pattern and less transparency in the examination process. The SC hearing on NEET PG 2024 was scheduled for today. October 25, 2024, which has now been postponed till the next date. The petitioner has raised significant concerns over the NEET 2024 examination process along with pointing out the absence of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in the NEET PG exam.
As per the NEET PG 2024 latest news, several states have faced confusion regarding the counseling process. Reportedly, Several states including Rajasthan may delay the NEET PG state counseling process owed to the National Board of Examination (NBE)'s decision to withhold scores. NBE has released the NEET PG percentile scores and ranking for the students who appeared for the NEET PG examination. As a result, the release of percentage marks has created difficulty for the State Government and medical bodies in preparing the joint merit list, as the original marks of the candidates are not available for preparing the joint merit list.
Meanwhile, Justice JB Pardiwala has questioned NBE regarding the availability of the NEET PG 2024 answer key and the absence of an information memorandum for the exam. The bench further highlights the need for clear guidelines for the exam.
In the meanwhile, NEET PG 2024 counseling registration is underway for qualified students. However, the officials are yet to announce the complete NEET PG 2024 counseling schedule. The MCC is expected to announce the NEET PG 2024 counselling dates and schedule anytime shortly at mcc.nic.in. Students who have qualified for the NEET PG 2024 qualifying cutoff and have completed the counseling registration are worried that due to further delay, the academic session will be hampered.
