TNEA Counselling 2025: 2.5 Lakh Applications Received, Register by June 6

Registration for the TNEA 2025 orientation program is underway. Registration closes on June 6. According to official figures from the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), 255,538 candidates have registered for the TNEA counselling 2025 this year, which will end on May 27, 2025. 189,615 candidates have already paid the application fee, and 149,800 have successfully uploaded their documents.

Tamil Nadu has the highest number of B.Tech program seats in India, according to AICTE statistics (2023-2024). AICTE approved 275,830 B.Tech program seats during the 2023-2024 academic year, the highest number in the country. In Tamil Nadu, BTech admission is conducted through TNEA 2025 counselling for BTech admission in government and government-aided engineering colleges, university departments and constituent colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, and seats released by self-financing engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.

TNEA Counselling 2025 Selection Criteria

Admission through the TNEA 2025 counseling will be based on the marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination. Candidates will be admitted based on their performance in the prescribed subjects, which will be reduced to a total of 200 points (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50) in the qualifying examination. The marks obtained by candidates through the TNEA 2025 application form will be normalized, and the merit list will be published based on the normalized scores. Allocation of seats in TNEA 2025 will be based solely on the merit list.

The steps to apply for TNEA counselling 2025 are as follows:

1. Registration: Candidates must register by entering all the required information and confirming the OTP sent upon completion of the registration process.
2. Login: Once candidates receive their username and password, they must log in to access the TNEA application form and complete their details.
3. Completing the Application Form: Candidates must complete the TNEA online application form by providing personal information, reservation details, scholarship information, study institution details, and academic records.
4. Preview and Final Submission: After completing the application form, candidates should review it for any errors before submitting it.
5. Payment of the Application Fee: The application fee must be paid online using a debit card, online banking, or credit card.
6. Printing the Application Form: After submitting their academic information, candidates must print a copy of the application form for future reference during the admissions process.
