Registration for the TNEA 2025 orientation program is underway. Registration closes on June 6. According to official figures from the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), 255,538 candidates have registered for the TNEA counselling 2025 this year, which will end on May 27, 2025. 189,615 candidates have already paid the application fee, and 149,800 have successfully uploaded their documents.
Tamil Nadu has the highest number of B.Tech program seats in India, according to AICTE statistics (2023-2024). AICTE approved 275,830 B.Tech program seats during the 2023-2024 academic year, the highest number in the country. In Tamil Nadu, BTech admission is conducted through TNEA 2025 counselling for BTech admission in government and government-aided engineering colleges, university departments and constituent colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, and seats released by self-financing engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Admission through the TNEA 2025 counseling will be based on the marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination. Candidates will be admitted based on their performance in the prescribed subjects, which will be reduced to a total of 200 points (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50) in the qualifying examination. The marks obtained by candidates through the TNEA 2025 application form will be normalized, and the merit list will be published based on the normalized scores. Allocation of seats in TNEA 2025 will be based solely on the merit list.
