The WB Madhyamik Examination 2026 commenced today (February 2). The examination will conclude on February 12, 2026. With the board exams underway, the Kolkata Police has issued a helpline number to help students. They have also issued a traffic advisory. If students face any difficulty reaching their examination centers, they can call the helpline number. Police officers will be available to assist them.
Additionally, ambulances will be stationed on important roads to provide immediate assistance to students in case of emergencies. The state government is operating extra buses in Kolkata and surrounding districts to help candidates reach their examination centers on time. At least 20 extra buses will run on 15 different routes during the examination period. The examination is being held from 10:45 AM to 2:00 PM.
According to reports, a total of 971,340 candidates are appearing for the WB Class 10 2026 examination. Last year, 969,425 students took the exam. Of these, 426,733 are boys and 544,606 are girls. The examination is being conducted at 2,682 examination centers across the state, including 945 main centers and 1,737 sub-centers.
