The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has not yet released the date for the results of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2025. The announcement of the WBJEE 2025 results has been delayed due to an ongoing survey to confirm candidates' Other Backward Class (OBC) status, board officials said.
It is unknown when the WBJEE results will be announced; they may be delayed. "We are awaiting the results of the new survey to determine the OBCs," said Sonali Chakraborty, chairperson of the WBJEEB.
According to recent reports, the West Bengal government has approved the West Bengal Commission for Backward Classes (WBCBC) recommendation to include 76 additional castes among the state's Other Backward Classes (OBCs). With this decision, the number of recognized OBC groups in West Bengal will increase from 64 to 140. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat. This addition follows an ongoing review of the OBC list with new data and social representations.
Candidates who appeared for the entrance exam can check their WBJEE 2025 results on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. In addition to the results, the board will release the WBJEE rank card cut-off marks by category. To download their results, students must log in with their registration number and date of birth.
The WBJEE 2025 exam was held on April 27. The board announced the provisional answer key on May 9, 2025. Candidates could file objections or challenges to the provisional answer key until May 11, 2025.
