The XAT 2025 exam is scheduled for 5th January, which is conducted in one shift from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. and this is the right time for finishing the preparation and finalising all things to tackle on the exam day. For this year, several major changes have been observed in the XAT examination pattern. So, this information is to be provided for the students appearing in the exam to help optimize performance.

Major Changes in XAT Exam Pattern 2025

These are the Major Changes in XAT Exam Pattern 2025 which are mentioned below:

1. Exam duration reduced from 210 minutes to 180 minutes
2. The essay writing section was removed from the test.
3. Essay Writing is to be included in the shortlisting of XLRI PI
4. No. of questions in the GK section has been reduced from 25 to 20
5. The XAT 2025 question paper will have only two parts
6. Part 1 comprises VALR, Decision Making and Quantitative Aptitude
7. Part 2 comprises only GK.
8. GK score will be taken into consideration at the time of PI shortlisting
9. There will be a total of 95 questions in the exam.

Key Modifications in XAT 2025

Here is the list of key modifications in XAT 2025 which are mentioned below:

1. Essay Writing: This will be conducted as part of the XLRI selection process instead of from the exam.
2. Reduced GK Questions: The questions in the GK section have been decreased from 25 to 20.
3. No Sectional Time Limits: There are no sectional time limits provided for part 1, so flexibility for the management of time is available to the candidate.

XAT 2025 Marking Scheme

1. +1 mark for correct answer.
2. -0.25 marks for incorrect answers.
3. -0.10 marks for more than 8 consecutive un-attempted questions.
4. No negative marking in the GK section.
