The alliance aims to provide globally relevant and industry-aligned education to Indian students and professionals at an affordable cost. This partnership will strengthen India-France academic ties and serve as a framework for further global collaboration.
XLRI has partnered with the University of Paris-1 Pantheon Sorbonne, University of Bordeaux, UNESCO Chair at Paris Nanterre University, Danish Consortium for Academic Craftsmanship (DCAC) and International Institute of Education Consortium of Universities (IIE Consortium). This multi-country collaboration will focus on academic programmes, executive education and research.
XLRI’s alliance with these institutions aims to provide globally relevant and industry-aligned education to Indian students and professionals at an affordable cost. It aims to provide innovative solutions that meet the emerging needs of industries, organisations and society and strengthen academic partnerships across different continents.
Fr Nelson A. D’Silva, Acting Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR Campus, highlighted the importance of collaboration with leading global institutions, especially Sorbonne, the alma mater of the founders of the Society of Jesus. Dr Eric Lamarque, Dean, IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School, emphasised that “this partnership will strengthen India-France academic ties and serve as a framework for further global collaboration.” Leaders from Bordeaux, DCAC, IIE Consortium and other partner institutions expressed similar enthusiasm and appreciated the long-term vision and collaborative efforts that have been going on for two years.
This partnership provides a unique opportunity for Indian students and working professionals to acquire world-class education and practical skills. These programmes, jointly designed by faculty members from XLRI, Sorbonne, Bordeaux and DCAC, blend core management principles with industry-specific applications for sectors such as healthcare, digital business and consulting.
There are plans to launch several specialized programs in the form of full-time, part-time and executive education courses in the academic year 2025-26. Designed to meet industry demands, these programs will cover areas such as healthcare management, family business, digital enterprise and consulting. The alliance plans to expand further with new programs, research initiatives and global exchange opportunities.
Through experiential workshops and integrated learning modules, students will develop entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving abilities and leadership skills. Graduates will receive degrees from the Sorbonne and Bordeaux that are recognised in the European Union, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Commonwealth countries, enhancing their global mobility and employability. These qualifications meet the academic requirements of skilled worker visa programmes in countries such as the EU, UK and Canada and provide new career opportunities.
