The science of physiology is living. It is a branch of biology that seeks to study the mechanisms that govern living organisms, beginning with the underlying principles of cell function at a molecular and ionic level, to the unified behavior of the entire body as well as the impact of the external environment. The study of physiology can help us understand the way that the body functions in its health and how it responds to and responds to the stresses of daily life. It can also help us determine the causes of conditions and facilitates the creation of new therapies and guidelines to maintain the health of animals and humans. The focus on integrating cellular, and molecular systems, and the whole body functions is what differentiates physiology from others in the life sciences.

It is an experimental science. Research in physiology has helped us improve how we understand the intricate mechanisms that regulate and control the behavior of living organisms. We continue to discover more about the fundamental mechanisms like the control of heart rate or perception of vision, by a thorough exploration of the many mechanisms involved.

Around the globe, physiologists work at universities, research institutes, biotech companies, and the pharmaceutical sector to improve our understanding of how our body works. The field of physiology is a fascinating and evolving field that supports the field of clinical and translational medicine. It also acts as a bridge between physical science and life sciences.

Physiologists investigate all aspects of how animals and humans operate. They study the actions of proteins that are contained in individual cells. Others study the interactions of cells within organs, tissues, and systems. They also study the interaction of these systems in order to regulate the entire organism. This research is the basis for a variety of clinical and biological disciplines, including medicine as well as the field of veterinary science.

There are a variety of physiologists who work in research labs, however. Physiologists also interact with patients in hospitals aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of illness. They collaborate with elite athletes, helping them increase their performance and prevent injury. They also study how the body adjusts to extreme environmental conditions, for example, deep-sea diving, or prolonged space flights. The field of physiology is recognized worldwide. The profession of physiologists is recognized worldwide. for conferences and conferences to expose their research findings to other scientists. Some physiologists write about scientific advances in journals, newspapers, and other publications, and provide advice for charitable or government-run organizations. They also apply their expertise in the legal field and are involved in the complex areas of patent law or in the field of education, inspiring and encouraging the young generation. Studying physiology leads to jobs in all these areas and much more

Eligibility:

Candidates who want to take admission in Ph.D. must have a post-graduate degree in Physiology with at least 55% marks from a recognized university and must have passed the national level entrance examination or university level entrance examination. National level entrance exam like UGC NET / UGC CSIR NET / GATE / SLET or University entrance exams consists of written tests and personal interviews.

Scope of Physiology in India and Abroad

It is always the requirement for experienced and highly qualified physiologists working in private practices, as well as hospitals. There are many options for graduates of physiology as well as other experienced physiologists who can either freelance and work in various hospitals, take on permanent or long-term employment in hospitals, or establish their own independent practice.

They also have the possibility to work with individuals of all ages that suffer from issues with language and speech which is why they are able to work alongside them in the role of speech or language therapy.

In the field of Physiology, they could choose to be researchers who work in search of alternatives to existing treatments, as well as newer ones.

Careers in Physiology

Physiologists are able to choose from a wide range of choices in this area of Physiology. They can specialize in Human Physiology and become Human Physiologists in the future. They can study all sorts of living organisms, study their behavior over time, diagnose possible diseases and discover solutions for those. They can also serve as personal trainers, including for famous people with enough experience.

The field of physiotherapy is huge with the potential to work in the following areas:

  • Hospitals
  • Healthcare Centers
  • Corporate Houses
  • Private Clinics
  • Universities
  • Rehab Centers
  • Defense Settings
  • Orthopedic Clinics
  • Sports and Fitness Centers

Course Duration:

The Ph.D. physiology course is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 duration. This depends on the university offering the course.
