Admission into MBA HR (Human Resource)

MBA in Human Resources (HR) is currently a highly sought-after degree. The MBA admissions process for 2024 has already commenced with the registration for the XAT entrance exam. CAT exam registration, a national-level management aptitude test conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), will also open soon, typically in the first week of August.

Eligibility criteria for MBA in HR programs generally require candidates to have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks. To pursue an MBA in HR, students are required to appear for entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, SNAP, and CMAT. Many prestigious institutions in India, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), offer MBA in Human Resources programs. The course fees typically range from INR 5 to INR 25 lakhs.

There is no upper age limit for pursuing an MBA in Human Resources. Upon completing the course, students can explore various career opportunities and take on roles like HR Executive, HR Manager (Talent Acquisition), HR Manager (Training), and Employee Relations Manager, among others. Every organization requires qualified professionals to manage its workforce, a critical aspect of the company's profitability and growth. MBA Human Resource Management Admission Process

The admission process for an MBA in HR is quite similar to other MBA programs. Admission to MBA in HR programs typically involves clearing top MBA entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, etc. Eligibility criteria generally require students to have a minimum of 50% in their undergraduate degree.

MBA in HR Eligibility Criteria

•  Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university/college.

•  There is a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for students from SC/ST/PWD backgrounds.

•  Final-year students can also apply, but their admission is contingent on their final results.

Admission for 2023-24:

•  MBA in HR admission is based on entrance exams like CAT, MAT, SNAP, CMAT, or merit.

•  After clearing the entrance exams, students typically undergo a Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round as part of the screening process.

 MBA in HR Application Process

Apply for an Entrance Exam: Choose an MBA in HR college and check the required entrance exams. CAT is widely accepted due to its national recognition.

Appear for the Entrance Exam: Prepare for and take the MBA entrance exam, which usually consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Shortlisting Process: MBA in HR colleges shortlist students based on entrance exam scores. Students must meet the cutoff criteria to proceed in the admission process.

Final Admission Round: Colleges conduct further rounds to assess a candidate's abilities and skills through Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI).

MBA in HR Entrance Exams

CAT (Common Admission Test): CAT is conducted for admission to 2-year MBA programs at 20 IIMs in India. It usually takes place in November, with registration opening in July. The eligibility criteria are 50% marks in graduation, with relaxation for reserved categories. CAT scores are widely accepted by MBAs in HR colleges in India.

MAT (Management Aptitude Test): MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by AIMA. MAT 2023 scores are accepted by over 600 MBA in HR colleges in India. The exam is held in four sessions throughout the year: February, May/June, September, and December.
