Government Engineering College, Banka is a Government Engineering College working under the Department of Science and Technology. It was established by the Government of Bihar in 2018. It is situated on the holy land where Satish Prasad Jha, one of seven martyrs hoisted the flag of India at the Secretariat building near Patna on 11 August 1942. It belongs to the land of a holy hill named The Mandar Hill. The College has four branches– Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Each branch consists of 60 students and the total number of students is around 400 studying here till now.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

More than 5000 books covering almost all areas of different departments and more than 80 Journal collections. Every department has a newsletter e-publication covering the activities of every department and one college newsletter every month. Library GCE Banka has been divided into 3 sections: The lending section, the Reading section, and the Reference section. Every department has its own departmental library loaded with a collection of books related to its specializations, a soft version of the project report of students, and CDs of online course contents.GEC Banka is also working on NDL and E-Garanthalaya.

Computer Lab:

GEC Banka has a well-equipped centralized computer center to cater to the needs of students and faculty in the university. It is housed, in a magnificent state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide a variety of platforms and computing environments for UG students. Total Number Of Computers =180.

Hostel:

GEC Banka provides hostel facilities to boys & girls. It includes spacious rooms, periodic maintenance of rooms, and hygienic food. Application for admission to the hostel shall be made in the prescribed form. A caring warden, hostel superintendent, and proper security ensure a safe and pleasant stay for the students to focus on their studies.

Sports Facilities:

For the protection, preservation, and promotion of health, a well-organized program of health instruction is essential for the students. The college provides medical facilities and health education programs for the bene?t of the students. The college invites a registered medical practitioner from time to time to examine the student’s health.

Placements

Training & Placement (T&P) Department is the hub of all possible interaction between the corporate, industries, Academic/ Research Institutions, and others with GEC, Banka with the aim of assisting in placements for all eligible students of passing out batches through campus placement. T&P also arranges pre-placement training for the students with the assistance of reputed training agencies. Apart from arranging campus placement, the department has also been organizing highly successful Industry-Academia Interaction meets which act as a springboard to be current and relevant to the industry needs.
